Co-Ed Credits

DIRECTOR’S NOTE: This show began with my desire to see a clown fight a drag queen. I was teaching a class and I wrote the title on a piece of paper. I turned to the class and asked if Co-ed Prison Sluts was a funny title. Most did, and that's how that happened. I never dreamed that almost 20 years later, I would be writing another director's note for it. I hate writing these fucking director's notes. Anyway, I'm happy that Co-ed Prison Sluts is back, and I want to thank Faith for writing the music, and the cast for creating the show with me. A couple of other things: a special thanks to Mark Sutton. This show previewed on a Thursday. It got about 5 laughs. Mark helped me work on it on Thursday night. It opened on Friday with laughs throughout and a standing ovation. Last, watch for the Dame song. Ellen Stoneking imrovised this on our first day of improvising music. What you see tonight is what she did on her first try. We never changed a note or word since. Thanks for coming to see this filthy show.

JAMES STANTON (SKEETER) was born and raised in Louisville, KY. He received his BFA in Performing Arts from Western Kentucky University.  He used to live and act in a mansion by the sea in Rhode Island and has appeared at The Annoyance in several shows including Frostbite and Bucket of Blood. He would like to thank Mick, Jenn and Tyler for giving him this chance, and his wonderful girlfriend Amanda for supporting him in all he does (especially video games).

HEATH CORDTS (SLICK) has performed comedy at The Second City, iO, and The Annoyance. He performs weekly with the democratically directed The Cool Table, and with Pub Theater's Quit Your Job, which encourages the audience to do just that. He was also in Up With People where he helped little boys and girls from all around the world clap in rhythm. Previous shows at the Annoyance include Arm Soup: The Story Of How Five People Went West And Ate Each Other, Bodyslam! The Rise And Fall of CAWC, and Subtitle - The Return of What You Will. Heath would like to thank Mick, Jen, Mike, Jimmy, and the rest of the Annoyance family for dropping change backstage and in the dressing rooms.

STEVE HNILICKA (DR. BELLO) is thrilled to join Co-Ed in it's tenure. A graduate of Second City and Annoyance's training program, Steve has performed with Annoyance in Bear Force One and Scientology the Musical. He is also an Artistic Associate with GayCo, perfoming in iHole and GayCo's revival of Whitney Houston, We Have a Problem. He is originally from Milwaukee, where he drowned his awkward queer childhood with community theatre and Cheez Its. Thanks to the Annoyance team for their continued support and tolerance of his tragically hip antics. And to Madame Chang.

CLAY GOODPASTURE (THE CLOWN) is delighted to be back on The Annoyance stage in a musical of such magnanimous proportions.  Clay is a Pisces from the nuclear facilities of Tennessee and holds a B.A. in Theatre Performance from Berea College in Kentucky.  You may have seen Clay in other Annoyance spectaculars like The Lil Talent Show and Rudolph. Most recently, Clay appeared in GayCo’s, Whitney Houston, We have a Problem.  He would like to thank the entire Annoyance family for this sick, twisted experience.

KEN MANTHEY (THE WARDEN) is very excited working with Annoyance again. Doing Co-Ed Prisons Sluts in the 90's for 9 years was a real fun experience! Some of Ken’s other duties during the 90’s at the Annoyance included box-office (basically every night of the week). Other credits at The Annoyance include: Dumbass Leaves The Carnival, Brainwarp the Baby Eater, Madcap, and Happy Blueballs, Your Life is Waiting. Ken would like to thank Mick Napier and Annoyance Theatre for so much love and support.

SCOTT GOLDSTEIN (HENRY) was born, raised and corrupted in Chicago. He is thrilled to be in the revival of Co-Ed Prison Sluts--the show he loved in high school and performed in during that time known as "the late '90's."  Favorite past shows at the Annoyance include What Every Girl Should Know: An Ode To Judy Blume, Trigger Finger, Eat Lead Jackass and Tippi: Portrait of a Virgin. Recently, at The Annoyance, he directed Bodyslam! The Rise and Fall of CAWC, and Tommy's Place. He's done other stuff, other places, but that's not relevant right now. He'd like to thank Mick for everything. Also thanks to Jen, Mike, Fitz, Tom Booker, the cast, Jonathan Toews, Mark Sutton, Lisa McQueen, his Mom and his kick-ass wife Ella.  Pour a little bit out for Kahlua the dog and Scott's dad Phil.

ELLEN STONEKING (DAME TOULOUSE) created the role of Dame Toulouse back in 1867 while reading the galley proofs of War and Peace. She is delighted to be able to haul her bones back onstage for this revival. She congratulates herself for having the foresight to create a role that she can play in dinner theatre when she is 80. As a founding member of Annoyance, Ellen has created, acted in and seen a lot of shows. Prior to Annoyance, she performed and taught in over 150 prisons across the country with Geese Theatre. (Ironic or synchronistic?) Ellen is also a writer with a screenplay, which seems to be perpetually in preproduction. It is customary to thank Mick, Jennifer and Mike. Ellen adds love to her thanks. Special thanks to the original cast of Co-Ed for the fun and indescribable laughs. She also thanks the current cast for their willingness to do whatever. Ellen sends thanks and love to her family, especially momendad. Kahlua.

DUNBAR DICKS (HAMSTER MAN) is excited and honored to be in Co-Ed Prison Sluts at The Annoyance. Co-Ed is Dunbar’s 7th show at The Annoyance. He has a BA in music/vocal performance from the Catholic University of America. He came to Chicago in 2000, attended the Steppenwolf ensemble-training program and has never left. He has trained, performed, and directed at various theaters in Chicago including iO, The Annoyance, and The Second City.  He would like to thank his family, Jimmy, Mike, Jennifer, & Mick.

ANGELA DAWE (ALICE) grew up in Michigan, where she learned to love theater, went to college in Arizona, where she learned to love the Midwest, and then moved to Chicago, where she learned to love The Annoyance.

MICK NAPIER (DIRECTOR) is the Founder and Artistic Director of the Annoyance Theatre and Annoyance Productions, and also works as a Director and Artistic Consultant for Second City. Some of his directing credits include Co-Ed Prison Sluts, (the longest running musical ever, in Chicago), David Sedaris’ off-Broadway Obie Award winning hit One Woman Shoe, as well as 10 Second City revues, including their premier at The Flamingo in Las Vegas, and Paradigm Lost, for which he earned a Joseph Jefferson Award for Best Direction. Mick is author of the book Improvise. Scene from the Inside Out, published by Heinemann.

LISA MCQUEEN (MUSICAL DIRECTOR) has been an ensemble member and Musical Director at Annoyance Theatre for 18 years, where she composed the musicals Tippi: Portrait of a Virgin, The Chiggers, President Bush is a Great Man, and The Invention Show, and many others.  She toured with Second City and most recently played two Second City shows on the beautiful island of Barbados for Holder’s Season.  She served as Musical Director for The Second City Mainstage at Boom Chicago in Amsterdam and for the Denver Center for Performing Arts production of the Second City Revue, Red Scare. Last year, she was Musical Director/Conductor for Chicago Shakespeare’s Theater re-mount of How Can You Run with a Shell on Your Back? which she also premiered.
